Airhead by Meg Cabot (BOOK ONE)

Airhead is the first novel in the trilogy.

The back of the book says: Emerson Watts is gone.
Emerson Watts didn't even want to go to the new Soho Stark Mega store grand opening and had zero interest in meeting the newly appointed face of Stark, teen supermodel sensation Nikki Howard.

But how was Em to know that disaster would strike, changing her--and life as she'd known it forever? One bizarre accident later, and Em Watts, always the tomboy, never the party princess, is no longer herself. Literally.

Now getting her best friend, Christopher, to notice she's actually a girl is the least of Em's problems.

But what Em's pretty sure she'll never be able to accept might just turn out to be the one thing that's going to make her dreams come true. . .
Nikki Howard is here to stay.

My review: Emerson Watts is in love with Christopher Maloney. Christopher is Em's best/only friend. Too bad he just notices her as someone to play Journey Quest with. Journey Quest is a video game created by Stark Enterprises. At the beginning of the book, Em is forced to go to a Stark Enterprises Opening, because her little sister Frida wants to meet Nikki Howard (the face of Stark). She brings along Christopher. During the opening when Nikki makes a entrance, Frida runs up to her for an autograph. Em notices that the tv above Frida is hanging on loosely by a couple of wires. She pushes Frida out of the way when the television falls. But gets her body crushed by it in the process. When she wakes up, she's in a hospital. She's very confused at first, but later discovers that her brain was put into Nikki's body. Only the Stark doctors and her immediate family knows. This means her grandma thinks she's dead. . . and so does Christopher. This book was suspenseful, and funny. One of my favorites. When you read this Em becomes one of your best friends. "Cabot (the Princess Diaries series) dishes up all the story ingredients her fans have come to know and love—romance, humor, believable teen dialogue and even a fantastical twist. This last bit requires a major suspension of disbelief, but willing readers will love it." -Publishers Weekly
