Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

The first novel in a series.

The back of the book (or the front cover) says:
At Fairfield High School, on the outskirts of Chicago, everyone knows that South-siders and North-siders aren't exactly compatible elements. So when head cheerleader Brittany Ellis and gang member Alex Fuentes are forced to be lab partners in Chemistry class, the results are bound to be explosive.Neither teen is prepared for the most surprising chemical reaction of all-- love. Can they break through the stereotypes and misconceptions that threaten to keep them apart? Travel to both sides of the track in a passionate love story about looking beneath the surface.

My thoughts: I loved this story! Brittany is determined to keep her perfect, untouchable facade up, but it soons becomes unbearable. Her sister Shelley has cerebral palsy, and even at twenty years old can't feed or dress herself like a normal person. Brittany cares about Shelley more than her own life and would do anything to protect her. Nobody knows of her except Brittany's best friend Sierra, and her boyfriend, Colin. Brittany's mother is always critical and seems to only care if Brittany's outfit will help her have high stantards. Her dad is not even around much because of work. Colin is pressuring her. Everything is falling apart. Alex is in a gang to help his family. One member of the family is in and the rest is protected. Alex is protective of his mi 'ama (did i spell that right?) and his two little brothers. He wants to keep them away from the Blood (the gang), because he knows that its a dirty business. Alex's dad died in a drug deal when Alex was five in front of him. He remembers the shock on his dad's face as the bullet was shot but can't remember the shooter. The book is shown in the point of view of Brittany and Alex. They are the only one's who truly understand eachother. They find this out when Alex bets his "friend" Lucky from the Blood that he can get snow girl Brittany into bed before the end of year. But what if he actually starts falling for her? This is a sloppy and rushed review, I know. I'm sorry. Perfect Chemisty is my favorite book now. It's a love story with many twists and nail biting moments.
I suggest you read it. Five stars.

Airhead by Meg Cabot (BOOK ONE)

Airhead is the first novel in the trilogy.

The back of the book says: Emerson Watts is gone.
Emerson Watts didn't even want to go to the new Soho Stark Mega store grand opening and had zero interest in meeting the newly appointed face of Stark, teen supermodel sensation Nikki Howard.

But how was Em to know that disaster would strike, changing her--and life as she'd known it forever? One bizarre accident later, and Em Watts, always the tomboy, never the party princess, is no longer herself. Literally.

Now getting her best friend, Christopher, to notice she's actually a girl is the least of Em's problems.

But what Em's pretty sure she'll never be able to accept might just turn out to be the one thing that's going to make her dreams come true. . .
Nikki Howard is here to stay.

My review: Emerson Watts is in love with Christopher Maloney. Christopher is Em's best/only friend. Too bad he just notices her as someone to play Journey Quest with. Journey Quest is a video game created by Stark Enterprises. At the beginning of the book, Em is forced to go to a Stark Enterprises Opening, because her little sister Frida wants to meet Nikki Howard (the face of Stark). She brings along Christopher. During the opening when Nikki makes a entrance, Frida runs up to her for an autograph. Em notices that the tv above Frida is hanging on loosely by a couple of wires. She pushes Frida out of the way when the television falls. But gets her body crushed by it in the process. When she wakes up, she's in a hospital. She's very confused at first, but later discovers that her brain was put into Nikki's body. Only the Stark doctors and her immediate family knows. This means her grandma thinks she's dead. . . and so does Christopher. This book was suspenseful, and funny. One of my favorites. When you read this Em becomes one of your best friends. If you want to learn more about the Trilogy (Airhead, Being Nikki, Runaway ~coming soon~) then visit the authors website at Megcabot.com.

"Cabot (the Princess Diaries series) dishes up all the story ingredients her fans have come to know and love—romance, humor, believable teen dialogue and even a fantastical twist. This last bit requires a major suspension of disbelief, but willing readers will love it." -Publishers Weekly

Those girls by Sarah Lawrence ( BOOK ONE)

The first book:

Back cover: Those girls are Jinx Slater, Liberty Latiffe, and their trendsetting, uber affluent entourage. They run wild at the exclusive Stagmount school, swap their Stella McCartney blouses like Jelly Babies and stop at nothing in their absolute pursuit of fun. Then snobby Stella Fox shows up, and naive Liberty quickly falls under her spell. Jinx knows the new girl can't be trusted and she's determined to win back her best friend, even if it means waging war on the self- absorbed Stella.
My opinion:
The book was exciting from cover to cover, and there were many things I didn't anticipate to happen. This book takes place in London, present time. The characters are very realistic. Jinx (real name Jane) is outgoing, funny, determined, and a good friend. Liberty is sometimes "daft" , but is a great person. Their entourage includes Charlie, Liv, and Chasity. Charlie has been best friends with Liv ever since they ruined the school field as a first year prank. Liv is the brains of the group, coming up with ways to get back at their enemies and not to get caught by The Gunn ( headmistress of one of the houses). The Gunn is a constant pain at Stagmount for those girls, she is always finding ways to get them in trouble. The last of the group is Chasity. She is Jinx's second best friend (besides Liberty). They are all lower sixth formers (don't ask me what that is, I have no clue) at Stagmount high school. The second most hated teacher at Stagmount besides The Gunn is Susan Dickinson (AKA "The Dick"). Everything at Stagmount is semi- perfect for those girls, then Stella Fox shows up. Liberty falls under her spell and gets in a huge fight with Jinx. The rest of the group will go to extremes to find dirt on Stella and get their friend back. It's not that long when they find out about Stella's shocking background, but the question is how can they prove it? This book is well written and entertaining. I'm now on the second book in the series. WHAT I WILL REVIEW ABOUT SOON: Those girls 2, Being Nikki (Airhead novel by Meg Cabot).

"Next time me and my LA friends are looking for a wild time in London, we'll defiantly phone up THOSE GIRLS!" ~~ Zoey Dean, author of the New York Times bestselling series The A- list.

How this is going to work. . .

This is a prototype:
BOOK COVER

Then what it says on the back of the book

Then my review of the book.

That's how it's going to look, most of the time, but with actual material. The exception is when I put books I'm going to buy, that I haven't read yet. Bye. . .
